START WITH YOUR TASK

Choose by the result you need.

01

Want to compare changes from a starting point?

Look at a snapshot-based tool and remember that it needs an initial list before later changes can be identified.

02

Want a periodic activity summary?

A report-focused service may fit better than a recent-order lookup. Check the report cadence and covered activity.

03

Want an instant ordered list?

RecentFollow and FollowSpy advertise this experience, but their reviewed pages do not establish how historical order is determined.

Start with the result you need

“Recent follow tracker” can mean several different things. A tool might claim to sort a list by recency on the first lookup, compare two saved lists, or report activity collected over a period. Those outputs answer different questions, even when their landing pages use similar phrases.

If you need to know what changed after today, a tracker that stores a baseline can be a reasonable fit. If you need a report about activity across a week or month, a scheduled-report service is a closer match. If you expect a first search to reveal a verified historical timeline, ask the provider how it determines order before paying.

Compare the time basis before comparing features

The time basis is the most useful distinction in this group. An instant list is a vendor claim about ordering; a snapshot comparison only identifies differences between captures; a scheduled report groups activity collected by the service. None of those labels alone proves completeness or exact timestamps.

What each alternative is designed to do

RecentFollow is the direct reference point. Its plan page advertises free recent-list lookups and instant newest-to-oldest sorting for public profiles. The same page does not explain how it derives the historical order, and its terms say it does not guarantee the accuracy of retrieved data. Treat its ordering as a vendor-described feature rather than an independently established timeline.

FollowSpy also advertises recent connections for public profiles, along with new-follower and unfollower features in paid plans. Its marketing describes instant results, but the pages reviewed do not establish whether a first lookup reconstructs past activity or uses saved observations. Compare the plan’s account allowance and billing interval before subscribing.

DolphinRadar’s Recent Follow Tracker uses a different model: the vendor says it saves the current Following list as a baseline and shows newly detected accounts in later updates. It cannot reconstruct follows from before tracking started. Its FAQ also says a displayed time is when an account was first detected, not the exact time that account was followed. Choose it when you want to watch for changes going forward and accept that timestamp distinction.

RecentSpy likewise says it stores a first snapshot and compares a later search with it. The useful result is who appeared or disappeared between the saved lists, not a complete history from before the initial search. Its homepage advertises one free search per 24 hours and describes fuller history and comparisons as Pro features; a current Pro price was not confirmed in the reviewed pages.

Snoopreport is oriented around reports rather than a simple ordered list. It advertises public likes, follows, and unfollows in weekly and monthly reports. This can suit someone who wants a periodic activity summary, but it is not the same as a live feed or proof of the exact moment an account followed another account. Check its current plan page for account limits and billing.

  • A baseline is the first saved list used for later comparisons.
  • First-seen time means when a service noticed an account, not necessarily when the follow happened.
  • A scheduled report summarizes a period and may not include every action.

Choose by use case

Before choosing, decide whether you need Following changes, follower changes, likes, notifications, or a downloadable report. Then confirm that the exact feature is included in the plan you are considering. “Unlimited searches” and “multiple tracked accounts” are different allowances, and a free preview may not include ongoing monitoring.

Questions to answer before paying

Ask whether the provider needs an Instagram login, whether the profile must be public, what gets saved, how often updates arrive, and how to cancel. The services listed here describe public-profile tools; do not assume that any can access private accounts. Read the checkout screen for the amount charged now and the renewal period, especially when a price is presented as a weekly equivalent for a longer billing term.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few things worth clarifying.

Which RecentFollow alternative compares changes over time?

DolphinRadar and RecentSpy describe comparing later data with a saved baseline. That can show changes after the first capture but does not reconstruct activity from before it.

Does DolphinRadar show the exact time someone followed an account?

No. Its FAQ says the time displayed is when the account was first detected, which may differ from the actual follow time.

Which service provides weekly or monthly reports?

Snoopreport advertises weekly and monthly reports for public likes, follows, and unfollows.

Are these tools independently tested here?

No. This comparison summarizes linked vendor pages and does not include paid testing or controlled-account measurements.
